Everyone has their strengths - and styling my fine hair has never been mine. I've never been someone people come up to just to compliment their hair. And that's okay! I have very fine hair (I've been instructed by my BFF/amazingly talented hair stylist to call it "fine" rather than thin!) but thanks to aforementioned BFF, I am thrilled with the colour of it and when she styles it, I feel like a new woman!
I styled my hair in this pic with the products listed below and using Babe hair extensions.
Of course, I can't have it professionally styled every day...Yet...
Through years of trial and error, I have narrowed in on my all-time favourite products for fine hair. You have to be careful about using too much product or product that weighs your hair down too much because with fine hair, volume is everything!
It's taken a while and a lot of experimenting to figure out what works best for me, and today I'm going to share my holy grail products for styling fine hair!
My # 1, Can't Live Without Hair Product:
This. Stuff. Is. Gold!
I was super skeptical about trying keratin fibers for making your hair look fuller and filling in sparse spots. I figured it would look artificial and not stay put but I was wrong. This stuff is literally incredible and works WONDERS on fine hair. You sprinkle it on, and spray it into place and it stays. It's been a total game changer for me and gives me so much more confidence!

Product #2: Texturizing Spray
It's half hairspray, half dry shampoo and 100% wonderful! Adding texture to fine hair is important because it helps keep it volumized. I've had really good luck with using this Ouai Texturizing Hair Spray. I spray it all over my hair before I heat style it and then brush it through. I also use it as a finishing spray a lot of the time. With fine hair, I find really strong hairsprays clump your hair together and make it seem like you have even less of it. What I love about this is it has the effect of holding your style without giving you a hard hair shell or clumping it together.
Product #3: A Great Blow Dry Cream
I had used Bumble and bumble's wave spray for a long time, but started to dabble more in their other products in the past year or so. One of my faves is this blow dry repair cream. I run it through my hair after I get out of the shower to help repair and seal split ends and it also helps protect it from UV and heat. This has become a must-have because the times I've found I accidentally put too much in my hand don't mean my hair is ruined! It doesn't weigh hair down, but still makes it feel really soft.
Product #4: An Excellent Heat/UV Protectant
Another Bumble and bumble product I love is this Primer Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Primer because it preps your hair for styling, has UV and heat protectants, and it helps control frizz. It's a spray, as opposed to the creme I use as well, but I find they work really well together. It works well on my fine hair because it doesn't weigh it down the way other products do. It's light but effective, and it smells amazing!
Product #5: Hair Extensions
I'd be remiss not to mention in the picture I used for this blog post I have tape in hair extensions from the Babe brand. If you're worried that your hair isn't thick enough to hide extensions well, have your stylist use only half the pack (that's what mine did). Also, if your extensions show a little bit sometimes, who the hell cares??? I love these extensions more than any others I've tried because they last so long, don't shed much, and take heat styling really well.
That's all for today!
If there are any products you'd recommend for fine hair, I'd love to hear about them! Comment below.
