I take chips and dip VERY seriously so I wouldn't recommend a healthy chip dip recipe without really believing that it's good. So today I'm showing you the French onion dip with Greek yogurt that I always keep in the fridge so I have a high protein chip dip, veggie dip, or even sandwich spread on hand!
I'll share a few different options for you if you want to play around with this recipe to get a final product you love the most.
High Protein French Onion Dip with Greek Yogurt
Chips and dip are literally one of my favorite foods...like I genuinely get really excited when I show up somewhere and see chips and dip. I often don't keep it in the house though because I end up eating so much of it in one sitting that I don't feel good after...but the good thing about this high protein dip is that the Greek yogurt doesn't take a toll on my tum and I feel good getting extra protein wherever I can.
Jump to RecipeSome of my favorite ways to eat it:
- On Triscuits
- With Quest protein chips the (taco and nacho flavors are my fave)
- With cucumbers (or any veggie)
- Spread on sandwiches
Basically, anytime you need a savory dip, this will do!
Ingredients
Even better, you only need a couple (literally) of ingredients to make it:
- One packet of onion soup mix (usually it comes in a box with packs of two, so go ahead and double this whole dip recipe if you want to use all of it!)
- Plain Greek yogurt
You COULD totally stop there but I always like to add salt and pepper too.

High protein chip dip variations
Like I said, you can play around with this recipe and really make it your own. For the highest protein option (that still tastes great) I usually stick with all Greek yogurt.
But you can also try:
- Doing half sour cream and half Greek yogurt (or any combo of the two)
- Subtracting a few tablespoons of Greek yogurt and adding mayo instead
- Using all sour cream or half sour cream and half mayo (if high protein dip isn't your goal, these are really tasty options too)
